Reaction mechanism analysis and new designs of high energy density and high power density energy storage devices such as lithium-based batteries (including Li-Air and Li-systems), supercapacitors, pseudo capacitors and hydrogen storage media

Efficiency increase of thermoelectric devices and photovoltaic devices (including water splitting) using new materials and/or various novel hybrid structures, as well as new energy saving methods

Study concerning impacts of energy transport and distribution in terms of networking problem to human society and environment including the economic aspects

Development of high efficiency catalysts, based on organic and/or inorganic materials as well as new materials of high chemical reactivity
